The following are three wonderful book recommendations from doing homework:

Trusting God – I had read before. Now I’m doing the companion study guide. If you are like me and are not satisfied with all the candidates in this presidential election, it is a very timely. Ultimately, it is timely for any person in any situation.

Grasping God’s Word by Duvall and Hays – This is a clear textbook which teaches how to study your Bible in a practical manner. They interact with the reader and give the reader many opportunities to practice what she is learning. This hands-on-method makes me wish that I could take a class with these two professors/ authors.

Psychobabble by Richard Ganz – Written by a Jewish Psychologist turned Christian, biblical counselor, this book exposes the insufficiencies of psychology and the superiority of God’s Word for changing lives. He succeeds at writing a useful book that is also an enjoyable read.

Also good is Idols of the Heart by Elise Fitzpatrick.
